Giveaway, Review, and Interview with Alyssa Rose Ivy author of Flight

Book Description:

Sometimes you just have to take flight.

A summer in New Orleans is exactly what Allie needs before starting college. Accepting her dad’s invitation to work at his hotel offers an escape from her ex-boyfriend and the chance to spend the summer with her best friend. Meeting a guy is the last thing on her mind—until she sees Levi.

Unable to resist the infuriating yet alluring Levi, Allie finds herself at the center of a supernatural society and forced to decide between following the path she has always trusted or saving a city that might just save her.

Author Bio:

Alyssa Rose Ivy lives in North Carolina with her husband and two young children. Although raised in the New York area, she fell in love with the South after moving to New Orleans for college. After years as a perpetual student, she turned back to her creative side and decided to write.

I interviewed Alyssa Rose Ivy and here is what she said:

Out of all the books you've written, if you could live in one of them which would it be and why? I would live in my Afterglow books. I love the hidden world of Energo, and it would be incredible to get to experience such a different place. The Afterglow is also my first series, so I think it will always hold a special place for me.

In what scenario do you do your best work?
I work best with a hot cup of coffee and some good music. I don’t know if it’s the caffeine or just the act of drinking it, but I’m convinced coffee makes me more creative. Music is such a big part of the writing process for me. I make playlists way before I even start writing a book.

What are you working on and when can we expect it to be out?
Right now I am revising the second book in my Clayton Falls series, Veer. Veer, a new adult contemporary romance will be releasing in early December. I am also writing the second book of the Crescent Chronicles, Focus. Focus will be available in January. I can't wait!

Which books have been on your tbr shelf the longest?
I’ve been meaning to read A Game of Thrones for a long time now.

Paper or plastic? Paper.

What food can't you live without?
Chocolate! I border on addicted. I like dark chocolate best, but you can’t go wrong with milk chocolate either.

Inside or outside?
I love being outside unless it’s cold. If I’m stuck writing a scene, a walk usually helps me clear my head and come up with a new idea.

Ice cream in a cone or dish?
I love ice cream cones, but I hate the mess. Still, I go for a cone most of the time.

What is your favorite sport?
I love basketball. I’ve become a big Tar Heels fan since moving down to North Carolina, and look forward to college basketball season all year.

What is your favorite or least favorite veggie and fruit?
I love almost all fruits, especially any kind of berries. I’m not the biggest fan of grapefruit because it’s too tart. My favorite vegetable is definitely broccoli, and I’m not the biggest fan of brussel sprouts.

What is your favorite animal?
I love dogs, although right now we only have a cat. Hopefully when my son is a little older we’ll be ready to get one.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
I hate when someone disrespects me. I expect at least a baseline level of respect from everyone.  Hear, Hear!

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.
Thanks for having me Brenda!

My Thoughts:

I can not believe the ending! Alyssa Rose Ivy how could you with good conscience end it like that? Please tell me it works out!

Alyssa Rose Ivy has given us an awesome new shifter series! If you like shifters you have to read Flight!

The plot was full of mystery, romance, action, and intrigue. I was unable to tear myself away.

I can't wait for the next book! I need to know what happens between Levi and Allie.
